November 2012 BALI

Pronto’s 5th Nov

Scott and Ang took me to Pronto’s for my birthday lunch once again the place did not disappoint. Great food, wine and company. The vodka shooters did me in and instead of winning my spending money for Bali Ang and Scott cleaned me up at cards, I will have to practice, then to make things worse I lost on the Melbourne Cup and the $100 million lotto draw!! Back to the drawing board for me. 10/10

Bali 9th Nov 2012

First time ever had the Bali belly  I must admit it is a little off putting. Jules also got a parasite and was sicker than I was, she is not use to it either! But with the massages, swimming pool, we managed to survive. Not a champagne or wine passed our lips for the whole trip. I did manage a couple of cocktails towards to end. Best part of it was losing a little weight, plenty to go however!

Shopping was slow, not a thing I got for Sienna will fit her, she is a big strapping girl (not fat) but the $5 rabbit was a real hit.Balinese are a small race, I should have brought up sizes.

We stayed at Benoa Rose Apartments in Nusa Dua  or call Julia on 0417 968 600 it is nice and quite and if like us you need a Doctor or some Cosmetic, Dental  work done you can pop up the road to the new BIMC Hospital it is NEW and fantastic and great service, then back to the Benoa Rose Apartments to heal.

This is the frangapani tree I saved. Wish we could grow them in Perth like this
Orchids I wish we could grow like they do in Bali
View to wake up to from my bedroom window. They do the water sports downstairs.

Banjo

Little Banjo Yates got attacked in the Park opposite his home while I was in Bali, he is one tough little dog and came through OK after giving his Mum and Dad a BIG scare he also had me worried.

We crossed one thing off the bucket list while in Bali on my birthday we went to the expensive cooking class at the world famous Bumbu Bali – http://www.balifoods.com - even though we were not well and the heat was terrible it was fabulous.  Just gotta  try out some of the recipes now.

Ketut

Jules driver Ketut is worth a million dollars as he knows Bali like the back of his hand. He invited us around to his new house to meet the family and for a coffee it was special. They are a lovely family.
This is what is spoiling Bali this monster is on the beach front and is one development!
Ketut's Temple
Jules and Ketut's little boy.
Big craved door entry to Ketut's house he is soooo proud.

Mother hen sitting on eggs that were due out any day.
Cows and paddocks are becoming a thing of the past now with all the development it is such a shame to see the huge new Hotels everywhere and Developments. This is from Ketut's back door.

Ketut and wife with Jules.

Travis and Sienna took me for Cicerellos Fish & Chips MANDURAH for my birthday lunch on the foreshore. Trav’s Salmon was perfect but my snapper was not cooked properly. Sienna loved her king prawns and fish. We had fun but I will have to score Cicerellos only a 5/10.
I would have thought they would have cooked the fish perfect but not to be I am afraid!

Sienna and Mango

Scott and Ang gave her a camel and she called it Mango and Sienna is talking a lot about Broome, she really misses those two and is talking about all of us going for a holiday to Broome to see Scott's and Ang's new house. (Batten down the hatches) She also loves to pick tomatoes off the bush and Trav said she was soooo excited to come up after my holiday and all the talk was of the tomatoes!

Bathing her dolly

She was up for the weekend and we had a great time, glass painting a fish and swan one for her room and one for her daddy’s. She is such good company. She loves "My fall down show" The Funniest Home Videos
and sat up clapping with gusto at every act in the Grand Final. She also loves Mr Bean.

Garden
Reg came around and kept an eye on the garden bless him.
These are self sown and so perfect.
Icebergs are such good value
My Bonica they are the same as Icebergs no trouble and have great flowers

I had sooooo many roses out and orchids (the orchids came up by themselves I did not plant any so that was an extra bonus) while I was away but some lasted until I got back. I have heaps of figs which I was not expecting in the first year on my new tree so I am happy with that. I LOVE figs

I will be able to keep the neighbour hood in tomatoes they are coming up all over the place.

The 3 Jacks were back for a week. They are really good little dogs and a joy to have around. They are spending a few days with Gayle, Reg and Banjo that will be interesting to see how Banjo takes to them.
PS All went well Archie stole the show he really has come out of his shell and a lovely little dog see photo taken by Reg on the left of him looking really smart and confident.

Bailey:

Bailey came for a week she is 8 months old Dalmatian cross weighing in at 35kg my she is going to be a big girl.  There was a big storm and I could not walk her one day so kept her busy with some biscuits in a bottle. She is a lovely dog however is going to be one big sucker.

She made herself pretty much at home and loved to sleep in which I liked.

Bailey and I watching telly not a lot of room left with two big ladies on one lounge!
She loved to cuddle - god look at the size for 8 months imagine when she is
fully grown.

Weekend at Jules & Rob's Oct 12

This lot come in all day for a pat and some hand feeding it is soooo lovely to see. They are really tame so we are guessing they do the rounds of Claremont and Swanbourne getting fed.
Daddy I would think
The baby we think.
Rob hand feeding
Only in Swanbourne does your dog and rug have to match!
Below: Babe getting a much loved scratch from Grandma.

This little one has to wait until the Kooka's have gone and then he comes in for a feed as well. This is on Jules and Robs balcony which sits high up in the trees.

I got a lovely Iceberg climbing rose from Dawson' s in Swanbourne, they have a great supply of healthy plants and are helpful. I also managed to get a fig tree which I have been looking everywhere for so I was happy with that.

Sunday takeaway Lunch Falcon

Sienna was dancing around my bed on Sunday morning and when I asked what she was doing she said "Gangnam Style" I nearly fell out of bed and she can dance, I found this sheep doing the same dance on Face Book she is going to love it!

I promised Sienna chicken and chips and one would think Red Rooster would have some at 1.30pm on a Sunday..NO.went to pop the order in .......................we have sold out of chicken and it will be 10 minutes. I said I would leave it after I picked my mouth up off the ground........but had to wait for at least 5-6 minutes before I could get out of the line-up........so off we go to McDonald's.

I got Sienna a chicken burger and some chips......they seemed miffed I did not know what I wanted to order so I left it up to them - just explained I wanted chicken and chips for the child or monster.......

Out came a squashed burger with the BRIGHT ORANGE CHEESE stuck to it.......................we had Rex the little dog with us and when she would not eat it I tried to feed it to him (he who will eat a shit sandwich) and NO could not come at this lot.

I think they got the chips out of the bin, freezing cold and looking worse for wear..........Rex  turned his nose up at them also when Sienna dropped the packet. This may have been my punishment for rolling the eyes at the 12 year old order taker!!!!!!!

0-10 for Red Rooster and McDonald's they are both a disgrace in my books..

Sienna and her mate Rex

I get so jacked off the businesses in Mandurah never seem to do well, and I am thinking now I know why!

These two are really good pals.
Sienna's saying this week "I am a clever clop"

However

This is what some idiot has done to Wade's memorial boogie board.........burnt it......lovely for his family and friends I am DISGUSTED  and guessing the moron that did this also did the graffiti on all the white walls, it makes me sick these fools ought to get a life and let the rest of us enjoy the beauty of this place without all this crap! Link to Wade's story

My garden October 2012

Not sure what these suckers are they came up by themselves. I think they must be a bulb. They are so pretty they start off with a green cone head that opens to heaps of white flowers......very pretty I must say.

Below are my "HIPPIES" that are just starting, I brought these up from Bouvard and did not think they liked it here but are doing really well now. 4 lovely big flowers on each spike. The mulch and sheep poo must be working!

The three Jacks

Archie, Daisy & Molly waiting while I dry my hair so they can see what the day will bring.
Early walk for you lot down the oval playing ball, or should that be fighting over the ball, they are fast little suckers. I love the way Archie tilts his head when he listens to me talk to him. I am really going to miss this lot this time as it was such a long stay and they were so much fun.- Archie and I are now "besties" funny little dog he wants to sit on my knee all day long! I think he may have popped on some weight - I hope not, but he is not as active as the other two.........................

I need one of these for our buck tooth rabbit "Sienna"
See lunch at "The Highway Hotel"

Rex came to stay for nearly a week and Sienna was here also as Trav. was in Broome visiting Scotto.
This dog loves kids they did everything together. They both had a great time. Sienna called him a Clever Clop or Rex the wonder dog.

Teeth cleaning  Rex was there to help he did not leave her side.

JERRY I am guessing a Springer Spaniel with a name like that. Becky his Mum dropped him in so she could go shopping he cries for her if he is left. He did to start with but a game of ball down the park and a biscuit fixed that. He was a good little man.

5th October 2012 PRONTO'S Mandurah

Kathy and I had a Friday lunch here and my was it GOOD...........no............TERRIFIC
I also went there just a couple of weeks ago for another friends birthday and this applies to both. I had the same food both times and so did my friends.
Oysters to die for and Local whiting cooked to PERFECTION, lots of too.
Both friends had the salmon and raved about it, I am not a salmon person so did not try it
The wine list is fabulous, the staff excellent
10-10 I would highly recommend it.

Trav's birthday lunch at EATON TAVERN 6th October 12

The three of us arrived and it was not very busy so we thought we were in for a great day, after hearing so many good reports about the food. The staff were not at all helpful or friendly. They never brought over the kids menu for Sienna or her colouring in. We decided on a tasting plate and some oysters to start with. That arrived and they never gave us a side plate to eat off until I asked and then only brought two!
The Oysters were the big suckers but I must say fresh and even Trav. tried a couple. The tasting plate was tasty with a couple of dips, some bread sausage, feta and olives. We were chatting and picking away when out she came with our mains, and no where to put them!. We had not finished picking - well we had now thanks to the waitress.! she never said a word just popped the mains down with us making room for the plates!.
Trav and I both had a steak, tomatoes must still be expensive as no sign of any in the salad! The steaks were OK not brilliant.
So I must say even though we had heard such great reviews about Eaton Tavern to me the service was NON existent on a quite day, people had to wait for ages at the bar to get their drink order filled, so all in all not a place I would recommend. It is not cheap pub food so you should expect a pleasant experience.
2 out of 10 for mine! and we will not be going back.

Lunch HIGHWAY HOTEL BUNBURY Sept.2012

I went to lunch with Trav and Sienna and the place we wanted was closed as it was Sunday. I suggested the Highway Hotel, it has been renovated. Good choice as it turned out. The food was terrific although we had to wait a while. They brought out a pack for Sienna that she could keep it had all sorts in it, colouring in, crayons,  ball , puzzles, etc.and they also brought her fish and chips out early (good thinking as kids don't like waiting) the fish was REAL and grilled for her. She loved it and I must say a nice change from the packet crap you usually get with kids meals. Then to top off a good day Trav's and my food was also great and there is more. They had a young girl doing some fabulous FREE face painting on the kids...............

So after the lovely lunch up we went for our turn......she could have picked anything from beautiful butterflies, princess, cats, lions etc...................no she wanted the Buck Tooth Rabbit..........................I asked Trav. could we try something a little more pretty he said "No she wants to look like her Uncle Buck (Scott)" Look how nervous our little darling is I love the look in image two!

Scott I did try to talk her out of it and I thought it was mean of Trav - he was sooooo worried we would not have a good picture of the buck teeth......................I think these pictures speak for themselves, she was tad nervous.

and as they say save your best to last....................notice the turtle tat on the arm - that also came in the pack!

we left and hopped all the way to the BUNBURY FARMERS MARKET another win, they have the best and freshest fruit and vegies in the South West. I love that place. They are now doing really great looking meat so it has turned into a one stop shop and cheap as........................

I think the Highway Hotel has thought of it all and I would highly recommend it. Thanks for a great day.
10 - 10 for mine

Sienna and September Guests

Little Susie Saunders came for an overnighter and she had fur this time. She is a LOVELY sweet smart  little girl - her Mum and Dad went to a wedding. She is such a good looking girl, no stains around her eyes that most poodles get. She is tiny I think probably a toy poodle - she looks like a young dog and is in good nick.

The 3 Jacks are back for 3 and half  weeks. Daisy, Molly & Archie they remembered me and settled in really quickly..... going to get a little crowded in bed tonight!! Oh well they are cute....................and that's what Jack Russell's do.................

Cute Daisy & Molly

Breakfast time
 Archie
 Daisy
Molly

I asked Sienna what she would like for lunch....thinking Jam or Vegemite sandwich..........
Sushi please .......................
I guess times have changed!

She came prepared for a large craft weekend by the looks of two boxes of paints. I think we have a budding artist on our hands. I also love to paint.

Sienna and Jazz.......what dog does not like smacko's? and she likes to control the portions!
This dog has the patience of a saint she loves Sienna.

Feeding teddy with a rock that is in the shape of a bottle. I think being an only child she is good at amusing herself and playing games. We spent a lot of this weekend on a bus under the clothes line, such fun! - I went from being a passenger to the driver.......................

Iceberg Roses are such good value

My first roses for the season. The soil here is not good so I have them in a pot, they are stunning. God help any bug that goes near them!
